The streets of Minneapolis became a battleground of grief and defiance this Friday as thousands of residents marched to demand the immediate removal of ICE agents from our community.

Following the recent fatal shootings of locals Alex Pretti and Renee Good, the city has been pushed to its limit, with students and teachers leading a massive city-wide walkout.

With 3,000 federal agents patrolling our neighborhoods—outnumbering our local police five-to-one—residents described the atmosphere as "living under occupation." At the heart of the protest, Katia Kagan, daughter of Russian Jewish immigrants, stood with a candle, stating she is fighting for the very "American Dream" her parents sought.

The local outrage has resonated nationally. While rock legend Bruce Springsteen performed a tribute at a downtown fundraiser, reports confirmed that 250 similar protests erupted in 46 states. From the Twin Cities to Chicago and L.A., the message remains the same: "No work, no school, and no more funding for ICE." Local organizers vow to continue the boycott until the federal presence is dismantled.
