US President Donald Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire between Iran and Israel as renewed exchanges of attacks threaten to undermine an already fragile truce between the two countries.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday, Trump said Iran and Israel were “moving toward an immediate ceasefire” and expressed optimism that final negotiations for peace were progressing.

“If nobody does anything foolish, the final discussions to establish peace are moving forward,” Trump wrote. He added that restrictions and pressure measures would remain fully in place until a final agreement is reached.

“The situation should move quickly,” he said.

In an earlier post, Trump urged both Tel Aviv and Tehran to halt retaliatory attacks immediately, warning that continued military escalation could jeopardize efforts to end the conflict.

For several weeks, Trump has repeatedly claimed that a preliminary agreement to end the fighting is within reach. However, no formal ceasefire arrangement has yet been announced or implemented.

Meanwhile, Iran’s military has issued a fresh warning amid the ongoing confrontation. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said any act of aggression would be met with a strong response.

In a video message broadcast by Iranian state media, a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya stated that if what Iran described as hostile actions and aggression continue, “more severe measures” would be taken against both Israel and the United States.

The latest developments highlight the continued volatility of the conflict, with diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire competing against ongoing military tensions and threats of further escalation.

Analysts say the coming days could prove critical in determining whether diplomatic negotiations can prevent the confrontation from expanding into a broader regional crisis.
