US President Donald Trump abruptly ended a television interview after becoming involved in a heated exchange with Kristen Welker, the host of Meet the Press.

During the interview, which focused in part on vote counting in California, Trump argued that delays in finalizing election results were evidence of electoral fraud. He claimed that it was unusual for vote counts to remain unresolved several days after an election had taken place.

Welker responded by noting that California’s election system includes mail-in ballots and other voting methods that often require additional time to process and verify before final results can be certified.

The discussion intensified when Welker asked Trump whether he had any evidence to support his allegations of election fraud. Trump replied, “I just have to look,” and said he had received information from various individuals. However, he did not provide specific evidence during the interview.

Welker then reiterated that no evidence had been found to substantiate widespread election fraud claims in the United States. In response, Trump criticized California election officials and accused major news organizations of bias and dishonesty.

He further alleged that leading American media outlets were deliberately ignoring or concealing instances of election irregularities.

As the exchange grew increasingly confrontational, Trump reportedly ended the interview by saying, “That’s enough. Thank you, darling,” before removing his microphone and walking away from the set.

Following the interview, Welker noted that she had traveled to Wisconsin for the program. Trump responded that he had already devoted a significant amount of time to the interview and argued that the media needed to change its approach and conduct.

The incident is the latest in a series of tense interactions between Trump and members of the press. Just days earlier, during a separate news conference, he criticized Kaitlan Collins and described CNN as a “corrupt institution.”

The exchange is expected to further fuel debate over media relations, election integrity claims, and the increasingly adversarial relationship between Trump and sections of the American press.
