U.S. Expands Availability of Commemorative 'Patriot Passport' Amid Strong Public Demand

The U.S. Department of State has announced a major expansion of its commemorative "Patriot Passport" program following overwhelming public demand, making an additional 250,000 special-edition passports available nationwide.

According to a CNN report published on Friday, the optional passport was introduced as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The commemorative passport features President Donald Trump's signature beneath his portrait on one of the interior pages.

In a statement, the State Department said:

"Due to extraordinary public demand, we are making an additional 250,000 commemorative passports available."

Optional Special Edition

The Patriot Passport is entirely optional and is not issued automatically.

Eligible applicants can apply for the special-edition passport by attending designated 250th anniversary passport events throughout August and September, or by visiting the Washington Passport Agency in person.

Standard Passports Remain Unchanged

The State Department emphasized that Americans who prefer a standard U.S. passport can continue to apply through existing channels, including:

• Online passport services
• Mail-in applications
• Passport acceptance facilities
• U.S. embassies and consulates abroad
• Public Interest Drives Expansion

A State Department spokesperson said the department has been inundated with inquiries about the commemorative passport through phone calls, social media, and public events such as the Great American State Fair.

Officials said the unprecedented level of public interest prompted the expansion of the program, allowing many more Americans to obtain the limited-edition passport as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebrations.
