Former Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, Muhammad Yunus, has returned his diplomatic (red) passport, officials confirmed.

According to sources at the Home and Foreign Ministries, Yunus handed over the passport about a week ago while still in office. Nearly 20 advisers and officials with equivalent rank in the outgoing interim administration have also returned their diplomatic passports, though a few have yet to do so.

A government official said most members of the outgoing administration have complied with the requirement. “Those who have not yet returned their passports will eventually have to do so. It is only a matter of time,” the official added.
