U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen has said that military-to-military cooperation and strong people-to-people ties form the foundation of the Bangladesh–United States partnership, adding that music serves as a unique bridge that brings the people of the two countries closer together.
The ambassador made the remarks on Friday during a joint musical performance by the Bangladesh Air Force Band and the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning" Band at the Bangladesh Air Force Museum in Dhaka.
The concert was organized by the U.S. Embassy as part of the "Freedom 250 America Week" celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
"We are delighted to join our good friends and partners in the Bangladesh Air Force for this special event," Christensen said.
Thanking the Bangladesh Air Force for hosting the concert, the ambassador described military musicians as "among the world's best diplomats," saying they connect people through the universal language of music.
He said the Air Force Museum was an ideal venue for the event, noting that it symbolizes the close partnership between the air forces of Bangladesh and the United States.
According to Christensen, the joint performance by the Bangladesh Air Force Band and the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division Band reflected the strong and enduring relationship between the two militaries.
He noted that although members of the two bands met for the first time on the day of the performance, they were able to establish an immediate connection through their shared language of music.
"Their collaboration demonstrates how quickly strong bonds can be built between our armed forces and between the people of our two countries, benefiting both nations," he said.
Christensen added that such exchange programs demonstrate that bilateral ties extend well beyond defense cooperation and are firmly rooted in meaningful people-to-people connections.
He said these human relationships underpin all aspects of Bangladesh-U.S. cooperation and continue to strengthen the overall bilateral partnership.
The ambassador thanked participants in the "Freedom 250 America Week" celebrations and invited people across Bangladesh to take part in other events scheduled throughout the coming week and the remainder of the anniversary year.
Officials from the U.S. Embassy, members of the Bangladesh Air Force, invited guests, and media representatives attended the event.
