FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been added to the so-called “kill list” of Ukraine’s state-linked Myrotvorets website, RT reported on Wednesday. The website publishes personal details of individuals it labels as enemies of the Ukrainian state.
According to the report, Myrotvorets accused Infantino of “humanitarian aggression against Ukraine,” providing “systematic support and cooperation” with Russia, and assisting in the spread of Russian “propaganda.”
The website also noted that Infantino was awarded Russia’s “Order of Friendship” by President Vladimir Putin in 2019.
Ukrainian officials recently criticized the FIFA president after he expressed hope that Russian footballers could eventually be allowed to return to international competitions. Infantino said such bans and boycotts create “more frustration and hatred.”
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the remarks, describing the head of world football as “morally degraded.”
Following the outbreak of the Russia–Ukraine conflict in February 2022, Russian athletes and teams were barred from most international sporting events by organizations including FIFA and UEFA.
Moscow has denounced the bans as discriminatory and a violation of the Olympic Charter. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that “sport and the Olympic movement should never be politicised.”
RT noted that while Myrotvorets officially claims to operate independently, it maintains close ties with Ukraine’s security services. Several individuals previously listed on the website have later been killed or died under mysterious circumstances, leading to its reputation as a “kill list.”
Notably, each entry on the site includes a field labelled “liquidation date” beneath the individual’s date of birth.
