Iran has issued a stern ultimatum threatening to plunge the Middle East into widespread electrical blackouts if the United States targets its power generation infrastructure.

The escalation followed intense diplomatic maneuvering to deter a massive military strike authorized by President Donald Trump, which he previously described as one of the largest strategic operations since World War II. Following urgent diplomatic interventions from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, the administration paused the planned strikes on Iranian infrastructure.
