Israel Has No Desire for Peace in Palestine: Turkish Foreign Minister

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has stated that the current Israeli government is entirely insincere about establishing peace in Palestine, accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration of escalating violence and terror in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Ankara with Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Hassan al-Shaibani on Thursday, August 6, Fidan criticized the continuation of Israeli military assaults despite agreements reached over the Gaza peace plan. He asserted that these ongoing attacks clearly demonstrate that Netanyahu’s government has no genuine interest in peace, while strongly condemning the ongoing aggression in Gaza and calling for an immediate cessation of violence.

Meanwhile, amidst these remarks, illegal Israeli settlers carried out violent assaults across the occupied West Bank, leaving at least six Palestinians injured, including three women. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent and the official Wafa news agency, the attacks targeted the village of Khirbet al-Tuba in the Masafer Yatta area of southern Hebron, where settlers torched several homes. The resulting smoke caused numerous women and children to suffer from smoke inhalation, and the injured were subsequently rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
