A senior Israeli minister has warned that the Trump administration will soon find itself on a "collision course" with Israel over its diplomatic engagements and agreements with Iran.

Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar sharply criticized Washington's current approach to conducting negotiations with Tehran. Speaking to the Israeli news outlet Ynet, Zohar stated that Washington's handling of the Iran issue is flawed and indicated that the administration fails to fully comprehend the nature of the regime it is dealing with.

The minister emphasized that this ongoing diplomatic trajectory will inevitably lead to a confrontation between the two allies in the near future, asserting that Israel's alignment with Washington's decisions will not be automatic. He underscored that Israel's independent security interests will solely dictate its future military actions. Furthermore, Zohar expressed deep skepticism regarding the efficacy of the recent US-Iran memorandum of understanding aimed at ending hostilities, arguing that no diplomatic accord would resolve Tehran's nuclear ambitions and predicting a resurgence of military conflict much sooner than anticipated. These remarks emerge amid intensifying domestic criticism within Israel regarding the current US administration's Middle East policies.
