Iranian President Pezeshkian Departs for New York to Attend UN General Assembly

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has departed for New York to attend the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran on Tuesday, Pezeshkian said Iran would firmly defend its rights and national position on the international stage without making any concessions.

Addressing long-standing tensions with the United States and the volatile situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian president delivered a defiant message. According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, he said that no independent nation can ever be subdued through pressure or coercion.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has already arrived in New York to oversee preparations for the visit. He reached the city on Monday and is leading the country's delegation in advance of the president's participation in the UN General Assembly.
