Gunmen Attack House in South Africa, Killing 11 Including Pregnant Woman

According to police, 14 individuals—13 men and one pregnant woman—were attending a gathering inside the house when three armed assailants entered and opened indiscriminate fire. Ten victims died on the scene, while another succumbed to injuries after being rushed to the hospital. Before fleeing, the attackers set fire to one of the victim's vehicles.

 

Authorities noted that several of the casualties were reportedly on police radar for alleged involvement in unlawful activities. South Africa, which suffers from one of the highest homicide rates globally with an average of over 60 murders daily, frequently witnesses violent clashes driven by gang rivalries, drug trafficking, and illegal mining. A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
