Khamenei Warns Adversaries on Revolution Anniversary

Marking the 47th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised the massive nationwide turnout at commemorative rallies. In a televised address on Thursday evening, he described the February 11 gatherings as a “remarkable demonstration” of national resolve.

Khamenei stated that the large-scale participation reaffirmed public commitment to the Islamic Republic and disappointed those who anticipated Iran’s submission. According to him, the rallies sent a strong signal to adversaries that external pressure would not weaken national unity.

He characterized the events as a symbol of Iran’s strength, dignity, and independence, urging citizens to maintain solidarity. The unified public presence on the streets, he said, projected a clear image of resilience to the international community.

The anniversary comes amid heightened regional and international tensions. Khamenei referred to a reported 12-day confrontation last June involving Israel and the United States, followed by intensified economic and media pressures. He also alleged attempts in January by foreign intelligence networks and extremist groups to create instability.

Despite economic constraints and adverse weather, large crowds gathered in more than 1,400 cities and towns, including the capital Tehran—a turnout officials described as one of the largest in recent years.
