NEWS DESKIt aimed to success for the upcoming MUNA National Convention 2025, the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) New York South Zone organized a special dialogue and dinner in honor of Imams and prominent community leaders. The event, held on Tuesday, July 29, took place at the Baitul Ma'mur Islamic Center Auditorium in Brooklyn from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The program was presided over by MUNA New York South Zone President Mawlana Emdad Ullah, MUNA National President Imam Dalouer Hossain attended with honour as the Chief Guest and delivered a powerful heartleft speech.
MUNA National Vice President Harun Or Rashid was also present, who addressed the audience as Keynote Speaker. National Executive Director Arman Chowdhury CPA invited the guests present for the MUNA Convention 2025 and called for their overall cooperation.
The event also featured insightful speeches by other esteemed MUNA leaders including National Assistant Executive Director and Principal of Islamic School 'QAFYS' Shaikh Ahmad Abu Ubayda, National Assistant Executive Director and Chairman of the Ulema Council Professor Dr. Ruhul Amin, National Assistant Executive Director Hafez Abdullah Al Arif, MUNA Social Services Director Mawlana Safayet Hossain Safa and Assistant Director of Social Services Dr. Jahangir Kabir.
We have to work together to spread the faith
In his address, Imam Dalouer Hossain underscored the significance of unity and the collective responsibility of the Muslim community. “Victory for the cause of Islam is not possible without unity,” he said. “Propagating the religion of Allah is the mission of the prophets, and MUNA is committed to continuing that mission-striving to protect our families from the fire of hell and guiding the next generation on the straight path.”
He further expressed concern over the challenges facing Muslims globally. “Today, Muslims are being killed, persecuted, and our families are being broken apart. We must act, not only to preserve our faith but to ensure that our children inherit a legacy of truth, justice, and Islam,” Imam Delwar emphasized.
Special guest Harun Or Rashid highlighted that the mission of dawah (invitation to Islam) being carried out by MUNA is the same mission that was carried by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). “Islamic organizations should not be seen as competitors,” he said, “rather, we are partners in the service of Islam.”
Professor Dr. Ruhul Amin described the MUNA Convention as an essential platform for moral and educational upliftment. “This convention is not only a gathering of Muslims,” he stated, “but a school of character where we strive to teach our children manners and Islamic values.”
The meeting began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Mawlana Nayeb Ali, followed by a welcome and opening remarks. The program was moderated by MUNA South Zone Secretary AKM Saiful Alam and the Guests were introduced by South Zone Education Director Muhammad Belal Uddin (VP) and Mr. Fazle Rabbi.

The event brought together a distinguished panel of respected imams and scholars from across the region, including- Imam of Baitush Sharaf Mosque Zakaria Mohiuddin, Imam Abdul Hamid, Alimul Islam, Hafiz Dr. Mohammad Mitawh, Shaikh Mohammad Jasmin, Mawlana Zakaria Mahmud, Khatib of Woodhaven Mosque Mawlana Mohammad Mustafa Hossain, Mawlana Abdul Mannan, Mawlana Noor Uddin, Mawlana Zia Uddin, Mawlana Mustafa Kamal, Mawlana Naeem Uddin, Mawlana Abdur Rashid and Chief Muazzin of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram Hafez Maulana Qari Qazi Masudur Rahman.

Among the community leaders who spoke were President of Jalalabad Association USA Badrul Hossain Khan, Director of BNS Health Saleh Ahmed, Former Senior Vice President of Companiganj Welfare Association USA Mawlana Abdul Alim Jihadi, General Secretary of Companiganj Welfare Association USA Mosharraf Hossain Sabuj and Dr. Jahangir Kabir.
Several prominent figures from across the tri-state area joined the event to show their support, including- Board Member of Companiganj Welfare Association USA Abu Naser, Secretary of Baitush Sharaf Jame Masjid Committee Motaher Hossain, Community Organizer Golam Hossain, Prominent Attorney Abdul Wahid, Renowned Physician Dr. Khalil Kabir, General Secretary of Beanibazar Association Babar Uddin, Community Organizer Rezaul Alam Apu, Engineer Kamrul Islam Mamun, Tax Officer Kudrat e Elahi, Engineer Shaker Abdullah Morshed and others.
MUNA Brooklyn East Chapter President Mawlana Motasim Billah Siraji, City Line Chapter President Mawlana Ruhul Ambia Suman and Ozan Park Chapter President Abdul Jabbar were in overall support in organizing the meeting and dinner. The concerned chapter members were in charge of the overall management of the event including decoration, sound systems abd dinner service.
