Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim Ummah of North America - MUNA West Zone organized a virtual discussion program titled “Welcome Ramadan 2026.” The event was held on Friday, February 6, at 6:00 p.m., jointly arranged by the Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Valley Chapters. A maximum of 131 participants joined the program online.

The program was moderated by Engineer Md. Ismail Hossain, President of the Hollywood Chapter. The opening address was delivered by Harun O Rashid, President of the Los Angeles Chapter.

The keynote speaker was Ahmad Abu Ubayda, National Assistant Executive Director of MUNA. In his address, he discussed the spiritual significance of Ramadan, the role of fasting in self-purification and attaining taqwa, and the importance of zakat. He also responded to various questions from the participants during a question-and-answer session.
Special speeches were delivered by Abdul Mannan, President of MUNA West Zone, and Abdul Malek. They emphasized embracing Ramadan as a vital opportunity for personal growth and social reform.
During the program, Anisur Rahman Gazi, National Assistant Executive Director of MUNA, who recently recovered from open-heart surgery, exchanged greetings with the participants, creating an emotional moment.
The program concluded with a concluding speech by Wazed Hasan Jabed, President of the Valley Chapter, followed by an emotional dua offered by Ahmad Abu Ubayda.
