Over 1,000 Attend MUNA North Zone Dawah Conference in Michigan

More than 1,000 people from Michigan and neighboring states participated in the Muslim Ummah of North America - MUNA North Zone Dawah Conference, held on Sunday, August 9, in Michigan.

The day-long conference took place at the Islamic Center of Nine Mile Banquet Hall in Warren and began with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Qari Sheikh Abdul Muqit. A nasheed performance was presented by artists from the Renaissance Cultural Group of Michigan.

The conference was chaired by MUNA North Zone President Nesar Uddin Ahmad and moderated by Secretary Anwar Hossain.

Former MUNA President Dr. Saidur Rahman Chowdhury attended as the chief guest, while Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer, Vice President of the Bangladesh Lawyers Council, delivered the keynote address.

Among the other speakers were Dr. Ramiz Muhammad, professor at Wayne State University; Hafiz Abdullah Al Arif, National Assistant Executive Director of MUNA; Sheikh Tariq Adnan, Imam of MCM Mosque; Sheikh Saeed Ahmed, Imam of Darul Quran Mosque; Khairul Hasan Rafiq, MUNA's Central Publications Secretary; and several local community leaders.

The event concluded with a prayer led by Sheikh Nesar Uddin, Imam of CDR Mosque.

During the conference, speakers emphasized the importance of dawah (inviting others to understand Islam) in conveying the values and teachings of Islam and promoting moral and humanitarian principles in society.

They noted that dawah extends beyond speeches and formal discussions, stressing that Muslims can present the beauty of Islam through their character, honesty, compassion, and everyday actions.

The speakers also called on families, communities, and organizations to play a more active role in connecting the younger generation with Islamic teachings and values.

Organizers expressed hope that events like the conference would strengthen unity within the Muslim community while encouraging greater engagement with Islamic education, ethics, and humanitarian values.
