Tafsir Mahfil Held at Masjid Al-Fath in Michigan

A Tafsir Mahfil, a religious gathering focused on explaining the meanings and teachings of the Quran, was held at Masjid Al-Fath, part of the Islamic Center of Warren in Michigan, on Sunday, August 23.

The program was presided over by Maulana Rafiqul Islam, president of Masjid Al-Fath, while the event was conducted by the mosque's imam, Hafez Maulana Abdul Basit.

Prominent Islamic scholar Maulana Abdul Hai Md. Saifullah, who traveled from Bangladesh, delivered the keynote address at the gathering.

Maulana Abdul Hai Md. Saifullah delivered a Tafsir of the opening verses of Surah Al-Mulk, emphasizing the purpose of human life and the importance of faith and obedience to Allah.

He said Allah has made human life temporary as a test to determine who makes the best use of it.

Those who use their lives in faith, obedience, and righteous deeds will receive the best reward, while those who turn away from divine guidance will face severe consequences, he said.

The scholar also emphasized the importance of understanding and practicing the teachings of the Quran.

"The Holy Quran is the greatest source of guidance for humanity from Allah," he said. "The Quran is not merely meant to be recited. Understanding its meaning, reflecting upon its teachings, and implementing them in our daily lives are among our fundamental responsibilities."

Hafez Raihan Uddin, imam of Al-Falah Mosque, and Saeed Ahmad, imam of Darul Quran Mosque, also addressed the gathering as special guests.

They highlighted the importance of incorporating the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah into personal and community life and encouraged attendees to uphold Islamic values in their daily activities.

Following the religious discussions, Shafiqul Islam Rubel, director of the Renaissance Cultural Group of Michigan, performed an Islamic nasheed for the audience.

The program concluded with special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the Muslim community, Bangladesh, and Bangladeshis living abroad.
