NEWS DESKMuslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) has expressed deep condolences over the passing of prominent lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court and former Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Barrister Abdur Razzaq.
In an official statement, MUNA’s National President Imam Dalouer Hossain and National Executive Director Arman Chowdhury CPA, described Barrister Razzaq as a towering figure in both the legal and Islamic spheres.
"Barrister Abdur Razzak was a towering figure in both the legal and Islamic spheres. His dedication to justice and his scholarly contributions have enriched our community in immeasurable ways. His passing is an immense loss, but his legacy will remain a beacon of guidance for all of us. We pray that Allah grants him the highest place in Jannah and gives strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time."
The message was conveyed on behalf of the MUNA family by its National Media and Communications Director, Anisur Rahman Gazi.
“Barrister Abdur Razzaq was a steadfast advocate for justice and Islamic values,” Gazi said. ''His contributions to the legal profession and his unwavering dedication to Islamic scholarship and leadership have left an indelible mark on our community.''

Barrister Abdur Razzaq passed away on May 4, 2025, at 4:15 PM Bangladesh time while undergoing treatment at Ibn Sina Hospital in Dhanmondi, Dhaka (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
Following funeral prayers held at Taqwa Mosque in Dhanmondi, the Supreme Court Inner Garden, and the national mosque Baitul Mukarram, he was laid to rest at Azimpur Graveyard.
