U.S. Judge Orders Restoration of White House Access for Three News Outlets

A U.S. federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to immediately restore White House access for three news organizations that were barred from entering the White House last week.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a temporary restraining order against the administration's decision, ruling that the move likely violated the news organizations' constitutional right to due process.

Under the ruling, the White House must reinstate press credentials for CNN, MS Now, and Politico for at least 14 days while the legal challenge proceeds.

The three media organizations filed suit after their reporters' White House press passes were revoked, preventing them from accessing official events and briefings.

Defending its decision in court, the Trump administration argued that the outlets had published false information and posed a threat to national security. The court, however, rejected those arguments.

The White House has not yet commented on the ruling. Lawyers representing the administration are expected to consider further legal action.

In his decision, U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly said the plaintiffs were likely to succeed in demonstrating that the White House failed to provide "adequate due process" before enforcing the restrictions.

Judge Kelly also expressed skepticism over the administration's claim that the bans were imposed on national security grounds, noting that President Donald Trump's initial announcement made no reference to such concerns.
