The newly elected Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has instructed party leaders and activists not to obstruct public roads, warning that he may stop visiting the party office if such disruptions continue.

He delivered the message while addressing party members gathered in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.

Speaking to the crowd, Tarique Rahman emphasized that while party members need to come to the office for organizational work, blocking roads on a daily basis creates public suffering and damages the party’s reputation.

“We need to come to the office for organizational activities. But if roads are blocked like this every day, it will harm the party’s image and cause inconvenience to the public. This cannot continue,” he said.

He made it clear that his ability to visit the office depends on maintaining normal traffic conditions.

“If you want to see me at the Paltan office, the environment must remain normal. No roads should be blocked, and public movement must not be disrupted,” he stated, urging supporters to clear the road within 30 minutes.

Rahman also reminded party members of the expectations people have from them.

“The people are looking at us with great expectations. We must stay within the law, stand by the people, and ensure we do not cause them hardship,” he said.

Referring to the current challenges facing the country, he added that party members should help citizens remain patient and support them during difficult times.

“There are many issues in the country. We need to stand by the people, explain things to them, and help them remain patient,” he said.

He reiterated that clearing the roads was the top priority so that he could continue visiting the office and carrying out organizational work.

“If you cooperate, I will be able to come. If not, it will not be possible for me to come here,” he warned.

When he asked the crowd whether they wanted him to continue visiting the office, they responded affirmatively. He then repeated that maintaining a normal environment was essential.

“I will come again in the next few days. If I see that you are keeping things normal, I will continue to come. Otherwise, it will not be possible,” he added.

He concluded by instructing the crowd to move to the left side and immediately clear the road, stressing that causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters is unacceptable.

“Please clear the road now. Move to the left and open the road,” he said before ending his speech.
