Iran has reportedly rejected a 48-hour ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States, according to multiple international media reports.
A reliable source said on Friday that Tehran declined the offer, which was reportedly conveyed through a friendly country on Wednesday. The identity of the intermediary nation has not been disclosed.
There has been no immediate confirmation or official comment from the United States regarding the proposal or its authenticity.
The reported offer comes at a time when US forces in the Middle East are facing growing tensions and operational challenges. Diplomatic efforts by Washington to de-escalate the situation intensified following an attack on a US military warehouse on Bubiyan Island.
According to the reports, Iran did not provide any written response to the proposal. Instead, it escalated its military operations, signaling its rejection on the battlefield.
Tensions in the region have sharply increased since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, prompting immediate retaliation from Tehran. Since then, Iran has carried out strikes targeting Israel and US military bases and installations across the Middle East.
The conflict has pushed the region into a volatile situation. Iran has also reportedly closed the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, leading to significant instability in global oil markets.
