NEWS DESKThe three-day National Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025, held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, concluded on Saturday with overwhelming public interest. From the very entrance, visitors of all ages — from young adults to elderly pilgrims — were seen eagerly gathering information and preparing for their spiritual journeys to Makkah and Madinah.
The final day of the fair witnessed packed stalls with enthusiastic attendees, especially young people expressing keen interest in performing Umrah. Visitors were observed asking detailed questions about costs, accommodations in Saudi Arabia, flight options, and overall travel logistics. Stall representatives patiently answered queries, offered brochures, and explained service packages.
Many experienced travel agencies were present, providing tailored guidance and offers based on visitors’ preferences and budgets. Some agencies even offered discounts, gift vouchers, and shared first-hand experiences of pilgrims to help others prepare mentally and emotionally.
Attractive Offers for Early Registration
Representatives from Madina Star Tours and Travels said they offered exclusive deals at booths 128-129 during the closing day. Notably, they announced a pre-registration opportunity for Hajj 2026 at just Tk 30,000. They also offered Umrah booking options for September, October, and November 2025, with both transit and direct flight packages available.
Similarly, Jabal-e-Noor Tours and Travels confirmed that Hajj 2026 registration has already begun, following Saudi Arabian guidelines. They stated that pre-registration and final registration must be completed between July 27 and October 12, 2025.
To pre-register, pilgrims must submit a copy of their national ID or passport, a passport-sized photo, a working mobile number, and Tk 30,000. Final registration will require the passport and a deposit of Tk 400,000.
The agency is also offering special discounts and a chance to perform Umrah for free during the fair period.
Visitors Speak: Confidence and Convenience
Many visitors shared their positive experiences. Abdul Malek, an official from a private firm, said:
"I want to perform Hajj for the first time. There was confusion before, but here I got direct information from authorized agencies. It brings peace of mind. Seeing the development in Hajj and Umrah services here, I feel hopeful and plan to register soon, In Shaa Allah."
Another visitor, Mahmudul Hasan, remarked:
"There are many agencies, and it's helpful to compare their services and offers in one place. It’s much easier now to understand the full process. Talking directly to the agents is giving us clarity and confidence."
Shahin Ahmed, who came from Gazipur, said:
"This is my first time planning for Umrah. Here I got hands-on information — from costs to packages to accommodation. Earlier, we had to rely on middlemen for such info. Now, everything is transparent and easily accessible."
Agents: Fairs Build Trust, Encourage Better Service
Travel agencies echoed similar sentiments, saying events like this fair play a key role in building public trust. Visitors could ask questions, compare options, and make informed decisions — all in one place.
Md. Faruk Hossain, an official from an authorized Hajj agency, shared:
"We’re not just offering packages. We also provide guidance on medical checkups, awareness training, and even pre-travel orientation. People are really interested in this holistic approach."
A representative from a Hajj accommodation service noted that increased competition has pushed agencies to improve quality, ultimately benefiting the pilgrims.
Closing Ceremony
The National Hajj and Umrah Fair 2025 will officially conclude this evening. The closing ceremony will be attended by Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, as the chief guest.
