An Idaho man, David Rush, has set an unusual world record by transferring ice cubes from one container to another using only his mouth, without touching them with his hands. He also holds the distinction of having the highest number of Guinness World Records.
Rush said he initially thought the challenge of transferring the most ice within 30 seconds using only his mouth would be relatively easy, given his previous experience setting records involving his mouth.
His earlier achievements include catching marshmallows with his mouth and shooting ping-pong balls.
According to Guinness World Records rules, each ice cube could weigh no more than 25 grams (0.88 ounces). To meet the requirements, Rush carefully measured the amount of water used to ensure that every ice cube remained within the permitted weight limit.
However, maintaining the right temperature of the ice proved to be the biggest challenge. If the ice was too cold, it could stick to his lips, while insufficiently cold ice could melt and affect its weight.
During his official attempt on June 12, Rush successfully transferred a total of 991 grams (34.9 ounces) of ice between two trays.
Surpassing his target, he secured the new world record in the unusual challenge.
