Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that systems do not change by coincidence, stressing that real change comes when the youth take decisive action.
In a post on social media platform Facebook, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman called on young voters to make their decision known in the upcoming February 12 election, describing it as a turning point for building a “new Bangladesh,” which he referred to as “Bangladesh 2.0.”
“Systems do not change accidentally. When the youth make a decision, change follows,” he wrote.
Addressing young people as the “frontline fighters of July,” he said their role was crucial in the struggle against fascism. “Without you, we could not even dream of a fascism-free Bangladesh. My love and deep respect for you,” he wrote.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed confidence that just as the youth remained steadfast until “July 36,” they would also block all paths for the return of fascism in the future.
He said the February 12 election would be unlike any previous polls, as it would determine whether Bangladesh moves toward democracy or fascism, sovereignty or dominance. “This election will decide the future of Bangladesh,” he added.
Warning against conspiracies, provocations, and misinformation, he urged young voters to remain calm, vigilant, and focused so that nothing could obstruct their participation in voting.
Concluding his message, he reiterated, “On February 12, declare your decision for a new Bangladesh. That will truly be Bangladesh 2.0.”
