Iran has presented a 14-point proposal to the United States, calling for all outstanding issues between the two nations to be resolved within the next 30 days.
According to Iran’s semi-official news agency Nour News, the primary aim of the proposal is not merely to extend the current ceasefire but to bring a permanent end to the ongoing conflict.
The outlet, known for its close ties to Iran’s security institutions, reported that Tehran’s demands include the lifting of all sanctions imposed by the United States, an end to naval blockades, and the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the Middle East. Iran has also called for a halt to all hostilities, including Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
The 14-point proposal comes in response to a previous nine-point plan put forward by the United States. Although Donald Trump rejected an earlier Iranian proposal last week, diplomatic engagement between the two sides remains ongoing. A fragile ceasefire, in place for the past three weeks, also appears to be holding.
As part of continued diplomatic efforts, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation on Sunday with Badr Albusaidi. Oman has long played a mediating role in facilitating dialogue between Washington and Tehran.
