U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Washington will not share any military plans regarding Iran with its Gulf allies while negotiations with Tehran are ongoing, warning that disclosing such information could be dangerous.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, Trump said, “We can’t tell them the plans. If you tell them the plans, it’s almost as bad as telling a reporter — actually worse.”

Trump’s remarks come at a time when the United States is deploying a significant naval presence to the Middle East and speculation is growing over possible military action against Iran. At the same time, reports indicate a rise in anti-government protests and crackdowns inside Iran.

Trump said the United States is continuing talks with Iran. “We’re talking to them now. Let’s see if we can do something. If we can’t, then we’ll make a decision based on the situation,” he said.

He also confirmed that a “massive naval force,” led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, is moving toward Iran.

A senior Gulf official said in a separate interview that Saudi Arabia would not allow the United States to use its airspace or military bases for any potential strike against Iran. A high-ranking official from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) said that although Saudi officials have recently held high-level meetings in Washington, the United States has not clearly outlined its intentions or plans regarding Iran.

Gulf states believe Iran often proposes negotiations but remain skeptical about whether such talks will ultimately lead to an agreement. Commenting on this, Trump said, “They are talking. We’ll see what happens.”

Referring to previous negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, Trump said earlier efforts had failed and that only time would determine the outcome of current talks.

Trump also addressed domestic political issues, including government funding and the possibility of a shutdown. He said Democrats would be responsible if negotiations collapse. When asked about Democratic demands regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents covering their faces, Trump declined to comment.

He claimed that crime rates in the United States are at historic lows, attributing the improvement to his administration’s tough stance on illegal immigration.
