U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a stern message to allied countries, warning that the United States will no longer provide the same level of support and that they must act in their own interests. In a post on his social media platform, he advised countries, including the United Kingdom, to secure their own fuel supplies by going to the Strait of Hormuz.

On his platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “You need to learn to fight for yourselves. The U.S. will no longer provide support, just as you did not stand with us.” He added that nations not participating in operations against Iran should be prepared for the consequences of their position.

The Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, is one of the world’s most critical oil transport routes, carrying roughly one-fifth of global oil shipments. Analysts warn that any tension in the waterway could have a significant impact on international energy markets.

Trump also noted in his post that the United States has “plenty of jet fuel” available and that other countries could purchase it if needed. He further claimed that Iran has already been “almost destroyed” and that the difficult work is complete.

However, international experts caution that urging one country to seize another country’s resources violates international law and diplomatic norms. Such actions could escalate into major military conflicts, particularly in sensitive regions like the Strait of Hormuz.

As of now, no official response has been issued by the United Kingdom or other allied countries regarding Trump’s remarks.
