Military tensions surrounding Iran are intensifying, as reports emerge that the Pentagon is preparing for a potential weeks-long ground operation inside the country.
According to officials, the proposed plan would involve a coordinated effort between special operations forces and conventional infantry units. However, a final decision on whether to approve the operation has not yet been made by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Amid these developments, Iranian media outlet Tehran Times issued a stark warning to the United States. In a report titled “Welcome to Hell,” it stated that any American troops entering Iranian territory would not return alive, but instead “in coffins.”
As the conflict involving Iran enters its fifth week, additional U.S. troops have already been deployed across the Middle East. These include members of the U.S. Marine Corps as well as thousands of troops from the 82nd Airborne Division. Further deployments are also expected.
Analysts say that such exchanges of threats ahead of any ground invasion are heightening tensions and increasing the risk of a broader conflict in the region.
Meanwhile, following a recent attack, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued retaliatory threats. The group warned that U.S.- and Israeli-linked educational institutions in West Asia could become targets in response to alleged attacks on Iranian universities.
The IRGC has also urged students, teachers, and staff to maintain a safe distance from such institutions, citing potential security risks.
